Juneteenth: A Virtual Event Series from the National Museum of African American History

The following programs are available on the Smithsonian's website starting today, June 14th:

  • Porch Stories - Tales of Slavery and Beyond: An internationally recognized storyteller will share two stories with insights into the wisdom and strength of America’s post-slavery communities.
  • The Robert F. Smith Family History Center presents Exploring Reverse Genealogy: The family history of an enslaved spinner and weaver will be traced.
  • Juneteenth and Culinary History: A conversation about the barbeque tradition in African American cuisine.
  • Juneteenth: Connecting the Historic to the Now: A discussion exploring the historical and current political significance of the holiday.
  • Community Soundstage: A performance and brief talk with a guest artist.
