headshot of Toi TysonToi Tyson, Executive Director and Assistant Dean of Career Resources and Exploration, Rutgers University-Newark

Toi Tyson provides the department’s principal leadership and works to support students’ career success through our comprehensive career development office within RU-N’s large, diverse, thriving, urban college environment. She also oversees career services for RU-N’s academic programs, ensuring programming and services support students’ various career pursuits. She also works to develop strategic roadmaps for the RU-N career ecosystem through collaboration with partners.  Her career began in corporate management, later transitioning to a career in higher education. She has worked at Rutgers as a career services professional and adjunct professor for over 20 years. Throughout her time at Rutgers, she has had an array of liaison responsibilities, industry and alumni engagement roles, and advising experience for students with diverse needs. A Newark native, she takes particular pride in her ability to contribute to the career success of the RU-N campus community. Alongside this, she has a passion for empowering those around her, aiding in their professional development and attainment of success.

Samara Reynolds has been invested in the field of career development for over 20 years at a diverse set of institutions across Virginia, North Carolina, and Washington. She has served as the leader of career services at Virginia Commonwealth University since 2018 and has been an active committee chair, mentor, and presenter for the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers (EACE), and Virginia Association of Colleges and Employers (VACE) over the last decade. In 2023, Samara authored a chapter in the career counseling textbook, “An Innovative Approach to Career Counseling: Theory and Practical Application,” and won the NACE Mentor of the Year Award. She was also recognized by VCU Staff Senate in 2024 with the Executive Award for Staff Advocacy. Samara has co-written multiple articles for national publication, including via the NACE Journal and the Journal of Student Affairs Inquiry, Improvement, and Impact (JSAIII). She also previously served as an associate editor for the National Career Development Association's Career Convergence web magazine and as President of the North Carolina Career Development Association. Samara holds a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Virginia Tech and a Master's of Education in Higher Education Administration from NC State University.

Davon Dickson leads strategic initiatives focused on centralized internship development, employer engagement, and embedding career readiness across the academic experience. With a background in experiential learning and career services leadership, Davon works to build scalable systems that connect first-generation and Pell-eligible students to meaningful career pathways.  He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Education, with research interests centered on organizational influence, experiential learning, and the integration of career readiness into institutional strategy. Davon is passionate about creating equitable access to opportunity and building career ecosystems that prepare students for lifelong success.

A LinkedIn Top Voice, founder of Professionally Unprofessional, and TEDx speaker, Ang Richard bridges generational gaps in the workplace as a sought-after Gen Z career coach. Currently pursuing her Ph.D. at Boston College and serving as a Career Coach & Special Projects Leader at Boston University, she combines academic insight with hands-on coaching to guide early career professionals through the complexities of today's intergenerational workforce. Ang is based in Boston, loves to spend her winters skiing and her summers hiking, and enjoys a long walk on a sunny day.
